« La performance dans le champ de l’art contemporain »

Directrice artistique de la compagnie Winter story in the wild jungle, l’artiste Sarah Trouche vit et travaille entre Saint Laurent du Médoc et Paris. Avec le festival Perform, elle fait découvrir chaque été son univers artistique aux habitants de sa région d’enfance. La performance est considérée par l’artiste comme un espace de rencontre, un partage d’émotion autour d’un moment unique. Cette dimension performative apparaît dans une programmation d’envergure nationale et internationale qui couvre à la fois les champs de l’art contemporain, des arts numériques et des arts vivants.  

La première édition du festival a su pleinement s’inscrire dans la réalité géographique et sociale de ce territoire rural et rassembler ses habitants toutes générations confondues. C’est forte de ce premier succès que la compagnie Winter story in the wild jungle renouvelle la manifestation en août 2021, avec la mise à disposition du Domaine de Nodris et des collections du FRAC Meca, la participation in situ d’une vingtaine d’artistes, le soutien d’institutions publiques de la région Aquitaine, de partenaires privés et d’habitants de la localité.  

“Performance in the field of contemporary art”

 

Artist Sarah Trouche is the artistic director of the Winter Story in the Wild Jungle Company; she lives and works between Saint Laurent du Médoc and Paris. Each summer, with Perform Festival, she shows her artistic universe to the inhabitants of her childhood region. The performance is thought by the artist as a meeting space, a sharing of emotions around a unique moment. This performative dimension is part of a programme of national and international scope that covers at once the fields of contemporary art, digital arts and performing arts.  

The first year of the festival was fully in line with the geographical and social reality of this rural area and brought together its inhabitants of all generations. Following this first successful year, the Winter Story in the Wild Jungle Company is renewing the event in August 2021, with the provision of the Domaine de Nodris and the collections of the FRAC (Regional Collection of Contemporary Art) Meca, the in situ participation of about twenty artists, the support of public institutions in the Aquitaine region, private partners and local residents.
